Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Brings New Tricks to Grizzled Veteran, Heralds Updates for Rest of TRD Pro Range

Toyota’s TRD Pro lineup has always been defined by three iconic entries (Tacoma, 4Runner and Tundra) and while these three each bring something unique to Toyota buyers. (we will be spending time behind the wheel of the Tundra TRD Pro after we return to Metro Detroit) Something always seemed to be missing. Toyota has filled this void by unveiling the all new Sequoia TRD Pro which brings some of the TRD Pro allure in a decidedly beefy full size SUV package. The Sequoia’s entry into the TRD Pro ranks was designed to help give the nearly 20 year old model some newfound relevance especially in the wake of other full size SUV entries that have long since lapped it when it comes to technology, refinement, and sales. Unlike the Tacoma and 4Runner TRD Pro, the Sequoia’s exterior enhancements are a bit more subtle, and mirror the equally subtle Tundra TRD …

2018 Lexus GX460 – On & Off-Road Test Review – By Matt Barnes

Badged as the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado worldwide, the Lexus GX460 is a luxuriously adorned version for the United States and other upscale markets. The underpinnings are as durable as one would expect from a Toyota product with all the luxury of a Lexus. Interior The GX460 is a very luxurious vehicle with all the features you would expect in a Lexus. The leather is soft and supple, with heated and ventilated seats. The second row has heated seats, but not ventilated. The steering wheel is also heated. The middle row captain’s chairs are comfortable and allow easy access to the 3rd row. With the commonality of high-quality mobile devices, the rear seat entertainment system feels dated and is an option we would skip. The system is easy to use, and the included headphones have good sound quality. Climbing into the third-row seats, we find that they are a little …

Battle of the 2019 Jeep Cherokees – Trailhawk Vs Limited – By Matt Barnes

A few months, back we had the chance to test drive the 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited. We really enjoyed our time with the vehicle and you can read about it here. Recently, Jeep sent us the Trailhawk version of the 2019 Jeep Cherokee, with the same 3.2 liter V6 and 9 speed automatic transmission. This gave us a good opportunity to compare the two similarly equipped vehicles, costing within $200 of each other. Similarities Both 2019 Cherokees we tested came with: Adaptive cruise control Lane keep assist 9 speaker audio system with the 8.4 inch Uconnect and GPS setup Leather trimmed seats Heated and cooled front seats Foot activated hands free liftgate Rain sensing windshield wipers Remote start The list could go on for quite a long time but suffice it to say that both Jeeps were very well-equipped. Kia’s Telluride SUV Brings Bold Styling and Rugged Capability To Kia SUV Lineup

Kia has been on a roll as of late, and it had a very strong 2018 with the unveiling of the redesigned Kia Forte, as well as the recent unveiling of the redesigned Soul lineup. But amid the vibes generated by these models, as well as the ongoing success of the Kia Stinger sport sedan, a notable void existed in its SUV lineup with the Sorento being the biggest offering that Kia offered. The Korean car brand decided to change that today, and has unveiled the biggest SUV it has ever produced, the 2020 Kia Telluride. Before we get into what makes the Telluride such an important vehicle for Kia, we might as well focus on the origins of its odd name. Instead of originating from the bowels of the marketing department, or a clever buzz word at the advertising department, the Telluride moniker is derived from Telluride, Colorado a …

2020 Land Rover Defender Returning to U.S. Market, Ends 22 Year Drought [Video]

Information about the 2020 Land Rover Defender has been scarce, with Land Rover holding its cards close to its velvet lined vest, and the world only getting glimpses via spy photos of prototypes, as well as Land Rover’s teaser images. The luxury off-road SUV maker has changed that however, and has released some new bits of information thst should prove particularly pleasing to U.S. consumers.   The big item here is that the Defender will be returning to the U.S. marketplace, with the model last being sold here in the mid 1990s. The Defender was pulled from our shores in 1997, due to tightening safety and emissions standards, and remained a Europe only exclusive (minus grey import sales) before it was axed there for the same reasons in 2016. Land Rover also revealed that the Defender will be unveiled in 2019, but stopped far short of revealing which auto show …

2018 Nissan ARMADA Platinum Reserve – Road Test Review

The new Nissan Armada is looking fresh and dapper — as well as huge — across the more affluent areas of the globe since 2017. Here is a machine that shares every panel with either the Infiniti QX80 or the global Nissan Patrol variant — but still has a fresh face that has the curb appeal of any of the jumbo SUVs in 2018 and beyond.  The new LED DRL lighting style in the headlamps is fresh and standard across the board, while the two-tone paintwork with contrasting fender extensions make a nice, slarry statement. At the end of the day this Armada is an amazing value play for SUV shoppers with pricing from $46k.  It brings the entire platform and luxury cabin refinement of the QX80 while costing a cool $25k less in some cases.  The big Armada is slightly shorter overall than the previous model but makes the …
