CamaroSix fever is heating up these chilly Fall days!
The car is in full production and first customers may have their new wheels by Thanksgiving, and definitely by Christmas.
Quite a special present for one’s self.
Here is a look at the four extra concept cars Chevy slid in the back door of the SEMA 2015 show: the Camaro Performance Concept, Camaro Black, Camaro Hyper and Camaro Krypton.
These offer a cool look at the potential mods and factory accessories available for the new ponycar, including an LED-edged bowtie emblem for the first time. Other Camaro accessories showcased on these concepts, yet coming to production cars within the next few months, are:
- Three aluminum wheel designs, in multiple finishes
- Grille kits with six body-color inserts for LT and SS models; inserts are also available in chrome-appearance or primed versions for custom painting
- A blade-style rear spoiler and ground effects kit, each offered in 10 colors
- Four exterior graphics packages, offered in multiple colors, including, “rally stripe,” front-fender “hash mark,” racing stripe designs and a body-side “spear” graphic
Lighter, stronger architecture:
Much of the Camaro’s performance can be attributed to reduced vehicle mass and improved structural stiffness. The development team invested 9 million hours of computational time looking for opportunities to make the chassis lighter and stiffer. That computer-aided engineering led to a modular architecture strategy that tailored the chassis to each model.
Lighter, stronger architecture:
Much of the Camaro’s performance can be attributed to reduced vehicle mass and improved structural stiffness. The development team invested 9 million hours of computational time looking for opportunities to make the chassis lighter and stiffer. That computer-aided engineering led to a modular architecture strategy that tailored the chassis to each model.
During the Find New Roads Trip, invited guests drove the all-new 2016 Camaro to all 48 States. These images taken outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. 
Less weight and more power combines for performance success. With weight savings of up to 390 pounds (177 kg), the all-new Camaro resets performance benchmarks for the segment. With the available, 335-hp (250 kW) 3.6L V-6 and eight-speed automatic, the Camaro zips to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and down the quarter-mile in 13.5 seconds.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro SEMA Concepts

Chevy just rolled out the 2016 Camaro colorizer, and the car is looking sharp! 10 colors and eight wheels for the SS Convertible and Coupe are damn sexy. Black or LED-lit bowtie and dark-tinted LED taillamps are just a few of the fun accessories.
The full price list is not available yet but, we know the SS V8 base price will be $37,295 — up from the Coupe base price of $26,695 for the 1LT turbo. Budget an extra $3k above both coupes for the ragtop variant, by the way.
So a bit pricey at first type here… but faster and better than ever. The LT spec level has a turbo 2.0-liter making 275 horsepower, with a 335HP V6 optional on the LT. The SS comes with a standard V8 making 455 horsepower — in spec lines 1SS or 2SS.

Favorite colors? The bright yellow will be popular, and looks much richer and deeper this year. Mosaic black metallic is also a new shimmery shade beside the flatter standard black.

Gen Six Camaro Concepts Shine at SEMA Show
Customized quartet demonstrate personalization and performance possibilities
LAS VEGAS – With the all-new 2016 Camaro rolling soon into dealerships across the country, Chevrolet introduced four customized concepts at the SEMA Show today – each demonstrating the personalization possibilities enabled by a new lineup of accessories and performance parts.
The customized quartet includes:
- Camaro Chevrolet Performance concept – a Summit White Camaro SS featuring new red accents, billet-cut 20-inch forged lightweight aluminum wheels, lowered suspension and performance upgrades
- Camaro Hyper concept – inspired by Camaro’s heritage, this Hyper Blue Camaro LT coupe with the available 3.6L V-6 engine features white rally stripes, heritage-style fender badges and polished 20-inch forged aluminum wheels
- Camaro Black concept – a blacked-out vision of the Camaro SS, it wears a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior with darkened trim all around, tinted glass and black 20-inch wheels. A lowered suspension completes the sinister stance
- Camaro Krypton concept – in addition to its electroluminescent Krypton Green paint, the exterior features illuminated bowties that cascade down the body sides at the flip of a switch.
These Gen Six concepts blend concept parts and production accessories. Chevrolet will offer elements of some of the concept vehicles in accessory packages in early 2016.

Camaro Chevrolet Performance concept
The Camaro has long been associated with performance and this concept uses new components, including a performance air intake, exhaust system and a red engine cover, as well as a new suspension-lowering kit and a Brembo® front brake upgrade kit with six-piston calipers.
On the outside, the Summit White exterior color is accented with “Chevrolet Performance” and stripe graphics, a blacked-out panel between the taillamps, concept 20-inch accessory wheels and the following Chevrolet accessories:
- Darkened taillamps
- Blade-style rear spoiler
- Front fascia extension
- SS grille with red insert
- Black front and rear bowtie emblems.
Inside, the Camaro concept is trimmed in Jet Black leather and accented with Chevrolet Accessories components, including Red Hot door accent trim, Chevrolet Performance-logo console armrest cover and floor mats, pedal covers and Jet Black suede knee pads. It also features knee pads with black suede.
Camaro Hyper concept
The Camaro Hyper concept strikes a bold and sophisticated pose with its Hyper Blue Metallic exterior contrasting with a new Ceramic White interior. It’s a combination customers can order with the 2016 Camaro, but this customized version adds heritage-inspired cues, including Chevrolet Accessories white rally stripes and “Camaro” fender badges. It also wears the rear spoiler from the RS package and Chevrolet Accessories 20-inch polished forged aluminum wheels.
The additional exterior and interior features are available from Chevrolet Accessories and Chevrolet Performance. They include:
- Front fascia extension painted body color
- LT upper and lower grilles with Silver Ice Metallic inserts
- Blue engine cover
- Black illuminated front bowtie emblem
- Ceramic White interior knee pads
- Black interior Spectrum door trim lighting
- Camaro-logo embroidered armrest cover
- Camaro-badge floor mats
- Suspension lowering kit
- Performance exhaust.
Camaro Black concept
This blacked-out Camaro SS concept makes a simple-yet-powerful styling statement – one increasingly popular with performance enthusiasts.
“It is a very popular thing customers do with the fifth-generation Camaro and we wanted to be the first to show how it looks with the new Gen Six,” said Adam Barry, senior creative designer, Chevrolet Camaro. “I’ll tell you – it looks pretty sinister.”
Starting with the production Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color, the Camaro features several custom exterior treatments, including Mosaic Black Metallic hood vents, black-outlined SS badges, black-tinted windows, special Black Edition logos on the fenders, steering wheel and console cover – and black 20-inch aluminum wheels.
The additional exterior and interior features come from the new Camaro portfolio from Chevrolet Accessories, including:
- Ground effects kit
- Darkened taillamps
- Rear blade spoiler
- Black bowtie emblems
- Black interior Spectrum door trim lighting
- Chevrolet Performance-logo floor mats with light grey edging
- Black suede knee pads.
The Camaro Black concept backs up its sinister look with new performance parts, including exhaust and air intake kits, a brake upgrade kit and the new suspension- lowering kit.
Camaro Krypton concept
Krypton is one of the six nobles gases and is used to help illuminate fluorescent lights. When combined with other gases, it can create a greenish-yellow luminous lighting effect similar to neon.
That luminescent quality was the inspiration behind the Camaro Krypton concept’s exterior color. The fluorescent green primary color is officially called Krypton Green and is a custom hue developed exclusively for this Gen Six SEMA concept.
Camaro Krypton features an electroluminescent paint technology. With the flip of a switch, the dynamic design comes alive with illuminated bowties on the body sides.
The concept also features the available RS package, which includes 20-inch wheels, high-intensity discharge headlamps custom-trimmed in green, darkened taillamps, unique upper and lower grilles and a rear spoiler. Additionally, this custom Camaro strikes a sportier stance with the new Chevrolet Performance lowering kit and sounds strong with the available dual-mode exhaust – with custom-painted exhaust tips.

2016 Chevrolet Camaro Accessories
Uplevel 2SS models include leather heated and ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, interior spectrum lighting, heated steering wheel, head-up display, Bose premium audio, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert with Lane Change Alert – included on the 2LT with the Convenience and Lighting Package – and more.
“For the fifth-gen Camaro, nearly two-thirds of Camaro SS buyers selected the 2SS trim,” said Christensen. “For those buyers, the 2016 Camaro 2SS comes with practically every available option. The only additional features available are Magnetic Ride Control suspension, a power sunroof, in-dash navigation, dual-mode exhaust system and an eight-speed automatic transmission.”
Visualizer details
The new Camaro Visualizer is the online portal enabling users to browse view how many of the options and accessories will look when installed on a 2016 Camaro. It includes 10 exterior colors, five interior colors and dozens of accessories ranging from wheels, ground effects, stripe packages and interior accents.
“There’s practically no such thing as a factory-stock Camaro and Chevrolet understands how important customization is to owners,” said Christensen. “The wide range of personalization options offers customers unprecedented choices for tailoring their Camaro.”
Accessory highlights include:

“The range of features, colors and other options ensures that customers will be able to build a Camaro quite unlike any other,” said Christensen. “Better still, these accessories can be installed at the dealership during the purchase process, allowing customers to hit the street in a customized Camaro the moment they take delivery.”

About the 2016 Camaro
The Gen Six Camaro provides a faster, more nimble driving experience, enabled by an all-new, lighter architecture that weight more than 200 pounds less than the Gen Five Camaro depending on the model and its broad powertrain range.
A new, double-pivot MacPherson strut front suspension complements the lighter architecture and provides a more precise feeling of control, including more linear and communicative feel from the quick-ratio electric power steering system.
The all-new interior integrates class-leading control technologies, including a new Driver Mode Selector, configurable instrument cluster with an eight-inch-diagonal display and the available, customizable interior spectrum lighting feature that offers 24 different ambient lighting effects on the dash, door panels, and center console.
LT models feature an all-new 2.0L Turbo engine rated at 275 hp (205 kW), enabling 0-60 performance of less than six seconds and more than 30 mpg on the highway (GM-estimated). An all-new, more-powerful 3.6L V-6 is available in the 2016 Camaro LT. Rated at an SAE-certified 335 hp (250 kW) and 284 lb-ft of torque (385 Nm), it offers highest specific output of any naturally aspirated V-6 in the segment.
The 2016 Camaro SS features an all-new 6.2L LT1 V-8, SAE-certified at 455 horsepower (339 kW) and 455 lb-ft of torque (617 Nm), making it the most powerful Camaro SS in history. And with improved handling and performance, it delivers better lap times than the fifth-generation’s track-focused Camaro 1LE package. Available Magnetic Ride Control active suspension enables even higher levels of capability, control and refinement.
The 2016 Camaro is produced at General Motors’ Lansing Grand River assembly plant in Lansing, Mich. Coupe models with V-6 and V-8 engines will arrive at dealers by the end of 2015, while convertible models and 2.0L Turbo models will arrive in the first quarter of 2016.
