One of the five factory-prepped 911s that raced the 1971 East African Rally, this 911 is pretty outstanding in its creamy white paint. A thorough upgrade, as you can see, includes front and rear rhino bars that are fully integrated into the chassis of the car. But overall, aside from modest aesthetic tweaks, extra lighting, higher ground clearance and sponsor stickers — the mechanicals of this 911 appear to be completely stock.
Just proof of the 911’s world-beating package? Perhaps!
Our favorite detail? The grab handles on the exterior of the car — mounted on both C-pillars. Not exactly sure their purpose, but surely needed for one reason or another.
