Ford SEMA F-150 Concepts Are Raptor Thunder and Drifter Lightning

You know that feeling you get when out with a bunch of scumbags somewhere far from home?

Somewhere like Las Vegas at 2am? You get a slight chill on your neck. That nagging hunch that your date is a rapist.

These two SEMA concepts from Ford have that vibe.

This could be my extreme bitterness at not driving the F-150 yet, but these concepts are not doing it for me. SEMA is definitely an odd show — and Chevy is barely phoning it in with their pathetic Silverado Toughnology. Compared with that, the Ford Deegan 38 off-roader and Vaughn Grittin Jr. drift F-150 do look pretty good.

But objectively? They are both pretty unappealing. The Formula D Grittin truck is obviously the better of the two. The Deegan 38 lifted F-150 is just your classic hillbilly date-rape special.

Overall, the both could be fully converted in about 5 hours from stock. That is pretty dull overall versus last year’s Transit Connect Hot Wheels widebody.

But aiming low for SEMA with these, Ford.

Don’t put your drink down at the clubs… or you might wake up somewhere strange hanging out with these two Rhodes Scholars.
