Forget Pippa! This is 2014’s AotY! (Ass of the Year..)
Pippa in an F-TYPE R Coupe? That could be quite the pair of yummy buns!
Ever the diplomat who never voices his concerns too bluntly, I am trying to bite my tongue here really hard.
But here is the skinny: the F-Type cabrio, at least on first sitting the other month, had a highly compromised driving position and barely any trunk. Those are big issues.
Thrilled to see the all-new F-TYPE coupe does not suffer from both these maladies: the trunk is huge!
Okay, it is not huge. But we estimate it comfortably doubles increases the ~6-cubic-feet of space available in the cabrio to about 10.
Unknown as yet if the cabrio’s invasive rear bulkhead is present in the coupe, but we really hope not.
The seat of the cabrio might as well be fixed for drivers 5’8″ or shorter — that is how tight it is with no seatback recline available.
 The mechanical package is a sure thing, however, with the power and exhaust notes shown below in these videos.
Of course, a few minutes on the road with these cars would probably have me singing a different tune.
My advice on next Jaguar dealer visit? Try to convince Jaguar’s v.snobbish US sales network that you are a qualified lessee before asking for a test drive….
Or the answer will be, “No.”
